Coiling For Power

Now, the body produces all the power it can by the turning of hips, trunk, and shoulders. It's like winding a big rubber band.

Set your shoulders to 90° angle, which is perpendicular to the target line. The hips need to rotate to 45°, and no more, in fact a little less for the very flexible is best. This is COILING. This is where your potential energy develops, is maximized, and awaits its powerful release. It's essential to feel maximum tension build along the inside of the right leg during this coiling movement.

A standard 3/4 backswing is enough to create this tension. Do not overswing as usable tension is then reduced.

Strengthen the midsection and legs to create your most powerful swing.
