Subscapularis
This muscle pulls the head of the humerus into the glenoid fossa, from below.
It works with the latissimus dorsi and the teres major in drawing the arm from the front horizontal or the side horizontal down to the side, but is less powerful because its insertion is significantly closer to the joint.
It also works with the rhomboids in stabilizing the scapula which makes it effective in these
actions.
And, it rotates the humerus inward.
By the way, your subscapularis probably doesn't require much targeted training.
ORIGIN:Front surface of the subscapular fossa.
INSERTION:Lesser tubercle of the humerus.
ACTION:Inward Rotation, Extension, and Adduction of the shoulder joint
